Where's the "Dog Whisperer" when you need him? HA!HA!

That 'little voice' has me a bit worried, but I'm sure all will be revealed in the coming chapters.

I like the chance to get to know Blaise and Dudley is the perfect foil for him . . . and vice versa.

Only one small boo-boo:  "and soon midnight was vastly approaching."  . . . I think you meant " and midnight was fast approaching."

Look forward to more! Story that is!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response:

LOL Dog Whisperer, I wonder if even he could handle this doggy :D The voice will be explained soon enough and I am glad you like how I partnered Dudley with Blaise. I wanted someone that Dudley might not be able to bully around and Blaise came to mind.

Glad you liked this much. I am going to work on more of the story. Will be updating soon! :D Thanks again!

I like Blaise and this is getting better and better by the minute!

Yeah, NOW you read the fine print!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like Blaise and yes the fine print is important to read :D Thanks again for reading and reviewing!

That was really funny.

Men, they NEVER bother reading the instructions, do they?  Much less the fine print!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response:

True, they never do read instructions because most think they can do it all by themselves. LOL!

Well, from one extreme of emotions to the other; this whole morning has been a real roller coaster ride for old Dudders, hasn't it?

Will someone show up and save him or will Petunia come home to a zombie?

Only way to find out is to keep going. . . so, it's on to the next chapter!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response:

Yes, it has been quite the roller coaster ride so far hehe. And you will see what happens soon! :)

Okay, I forgot to mention in previous chapters that I thought the backstory about the little girl he saw during the dementor attack was a good idea. Also, in last chapter I love this line about Vernon: "It was almost as if he were trying to wipe away every, single memory of Harry and every speck of the past."

This chapter is quite intriguing as well. I am liking the direction the plot is moving in... Maybe he will be able to somehow get "Floppy" to Aunt Marge's and try out his experiment a little more. Vernon and Petunia's reactions over this will be money! However, I'm thinking they might not find out right away.

Author's Response:

Hehe Glad you liked this one. The story is starting to pick up a bit more and hope you enjoy the ride! Thank you again for your reviews!

I like the way Dudley is so intent on pursuing his goal of opening the trunk. His personality is very well-developed. I also love the Slytherinish reaction he has in order to be able to stay at their home. I will say that it is definitely creepy that he's having a dementor-like experience. I wasn't expecting that at all. Perhaps he's having a flashback? Or is there really another dementor at his house? And where's that promised little doggie?

Author's Response:

Ah yes, this chapter was a bit bland so I needed to wake everyone up and make the readers wonder what is going on lol. You noticed I gave him some Slytheriny type of behaviors- I'm glad you picked up on them. I wanted something like that. I'm sure you will see what happens in the next chapter.

This chapter is excellent as well! I really like his thoughts and feelings as he returns home. Again, I think they are very realistic. I'm intrigued by the new development with Hagrid. I was wondering how the title of the story would come into play. I like that Dudley is going to get a taste of the magical world, but I have a feeling that it's not going to happen how he expects it to! :)

Author's Response:

Hehehe This story was one I wrote to be a long but meaningful story. Dudley has a lot of adventure to go on. Thanks again for reviewing.

The characterization of Dudley in this chapter is amazing. You keep it simple just like it would be for him, but you still have him very layered. He seems kind of Slytherinish due to him being used to getting what he wanted either by family power or his own. This makes him meeting up with Blaise seem to have more significance. Also, the way the feelins of loneliness come to him is realistic for someone with his personality type. Due to the dementors and everything going on, his beliefs are shifting in profound ways, but you still keep it on a level that I would consider to be Dudley-ish! :)

Author's Response:

It was hard getting him just right because I had to be careful not to try to turn him into 'Harry' but also make him grow as a character without being too drastic. Thanks again :)

I think this is an interesting start to a really good concept. I love reading stories about Dudley exploring the magical world in some way. I think this is one of the most unique ways I've seen so far. You set up the situation well, and you DEFINITELY provide a good reason for Dudley to want to experiment with new things - the boredom of his family AND their constant nitpicking. I mean, mentioning his hemheroids (sp?)! Evil! I also find it ineresting that he met Blaise. I wonder what this new acquaintance will mean for him.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, I appreciate your review. It took a bit to get this story together and so when I started writing it, I felt that throwing in some humor was a good idea along with a different presentation of the Dursleys. Yes, I insisted on adding Blaise because he is one of my favorite lesser known characters.

Luckily, only a dream with the Dementor.

I would have loved to bee there to see Dud's face when he opened the box and saw a three-headed dog.

I always have questions, here's one as well: Fluffy was about the size of a rhino in the second book. How come he was so small then? or I just missed something?

This was HI-LA-RI-OUS!!!

Author's Response: Yes, it was a dream but one that really rattled Dudley hehe! And feel free to ask questions all you want as I will do my best to answer them unless they tie in with the future plot of the story. Then I will tell you. As far as your question about Fluffy goes well in the next chapter you will see but let me just give you a tidbit of info on that. In this chapter if you recall, Dudley didn't read the WHOLE letter and 'skipped over' parts of it which will lead to the events of chapter 6. Thank you so much for taking time to read and review this story and I will try to update soon. :)

It was more of a filler chapter, but ending it with a cliffhanger the size of Mount McKinley was simply awesome. Dementors again? I thought the war was over...

Brilli-brillliant :D

Author's Response: Yes this was a filler chapter pretty much to set up for the following chapter. I was going to just delete it but I felt maybe it let the readers kind of settle into the feel and the mood. About the Dementor, well you will understand once you read the next chapter. Hehe! :) I love to leave cliffhangers. Thank you again!

Back home, which for one of the Dursleys feels no home any more.

Brilliantly written letter, by the way. Your dialectization is superb! What I don't understand is why would Hagrid send a letter to Harry to Privet Drive knowing that he ain' livin' there no more?

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the compliments of how I wrote the letter. I had a really hard time with it and it took days writing it over and over before I was confident enough to finally add it to the story. Oh about your question of why Hagrid sent the letter to the Dursleys. You will find out about that later in the story :)

Wonderful characterization of the Dursleys, all three of them. This chapter also marks the beginning of the changes in Dudley I'd mentioned in my previous review.

Very nicely, literately written stuff. I enjoyed every word.

Author's Response: Thanks again and yeah I really did a lot of research to try to write these people as accurate as I could without sounded copycatty and really tried to make Dudley show his changes though they are not all of a sudden, as he has inner turmoil. Thank you so much for your compliments!

Ohhh... this will be serious fun. I still remember Vernon's previous encounters with the M word :D Well, at least his encounters with the Wesleys were always ... interesting, to say the least.

I wonder what brings Blaise Zabini into the Ministry. I hope the Ministry is not lacking manforce THAT much that it's forced to hire Slytherins.

Also, as it seems, Dudley has grown up and he might have changed a bit towards the M folks during their year-long hiding.

Author's Response:

Hello :) Well I have to say that this story was very hard to start. It was a challenge to myself to write out of my comfort zone lol. So yeah, it's kind of a strange but unique type I think. I wrote Blaise in because he didn't get a lot of attention in the books and is one of my favorite characters. I didn't want to use Draco or any of the other Slytherins because I wanted a certain type of character that wasn't so rooted in the story. While Blaise doesn't care for muggles I wrote him to not be as prejudiced as Draco. I also needed a character that would work well for the whole story and so I picked him.

I tried to make Dudley grow up some but still keep the part of him that makes him Dudley hehe! Thanks for reading and reviewing and wow I have more reviews from you? Hehe yaay I will go respond to those too! Thank you again for your review!

OMG!

Dud doesn't have a cllue and this could prove very interesting and VERY funny!

Update soon!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response: Haha, I will be updating soon because next chapter is definitely going to be interesting! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I'm glad you like the story :)

Well, at least something positive came out of that dememtor attack . . . even though it seems like mental torture to Dudley now, if he talks to Harry or even Arthur about it, he'll see it was a good thing and he'll be able to use that knowledge to start down a new path in his life . . .

speaking of new paths, there's another chapter waiting!

ONWARD!

Author's Response: Thanks again for reviewing. I've made more to Dudley and stretched him beyond what is written about him. He's got a chance in life if he makes the right choices. :) yeah, I updated recently. Thanks again.

Oh dear, I sense trouble on the horizon, if Arthur and Dudley spend too much time together; each pumping the other for information about the their world.

Once the Dursleys are back in their house, I bet DUdley has a "yard sale " of his old stuff, with Arthur, in exchange for being allowed to "learn" about the wizarding world.

OH dear, oh dear, we could be in trouble . . . but it sounds like fun!

HE!HE!HE!

Author's Response: It certainly does seem like there would be trouble if these two spent more time together sharing knowledge about both worlds lol. Funny about Dudley and the yard sale hehehe that made me laugh picturing that. Thanks for reviewing! :) I really appreciate it.
