Oh, Chelsea! I do love your writing, it's so straightforward but so mysteriously misleading at the same time - I never know what to expect from you, and I was not expecting this.

What I especially loved was that this was angst, but it wasn't depressing or horribly heartwrenching or anything we might expect from the term "angst." It wasn't bittersweet, at least I don't think it was. It just - was. It was a moment from Severus' point of view of his last time with Lily (at least, I think it was? This is the night Voldemort killed them, right?) and it was at once mundane but very special. Or maybe mundane is not the word, and I just mean that... it was normal. No tears, no last kisses, but love in the most commonplace sense, and that's what made it special.

I was really surprised at the voice you gave Severus in this. I don't think I've ever seen him written in first person. He sounds so normal in this, that even though we're talking about the love of his life and her imminent death, there's something very brusquely human in him and I haven't seen that before either. Lily I thought was fantastically human, too; she know that she can be killed at any moment and yet she's carving jack-o-lanterns. And her last line! God, that was perfect. It's one of my new favorite endings. Just... spectacular much!

Not to mention, this was a great interpretation of the song! I'm so happy to see what this challenge actually brings about! Wonderful, wonderful! I'm so glad to see you back in the writing game ^_^

This was so sad, and delicately written. Is this *the* Halloween, or the year before? Great job. I would also love to see more, if you expand on this.
